During the week 12th - 17th February, 2012, Mr. Joseph Ricciardelli and Mr. Joe Murli collaborated on providing TPM training to a big multinational company in the USA.
TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is a Japanese approach for improved machine and workforce availability through better utilization of maintenance and production resources. Whereas in most production settings the operator is not viewed as a member of the maintenance team, in TPM the machine operator is trained to perform many of the day-to-day tasks of simple maintenance and fault-finding.
In other words, by maximizing the labour and equipment efficiency, TPM is eliminating breakdowns and accidents, thus minimazing costs.
